ATC challenge/swap #25, theme =colours

A gratifying small but real increase in the number of entries this month. Hopefully a sign of good things to come. The theme as set out was to be colours. No further directions were given. The number of ways that this was interpreted was very interesting and gave some great results. I will simply do as usual and list the entries with the names of the artists. For larger images and descriptions of many of the artworks browse on over to the ATC/ACEO artist group on PDA.

ATC challenge /swap #23 (Tissue paper) closing date Seot 30th

This month we had a theme based on a technique, or at least techniques. We had to make use of tissue paper. I certainly learned a couple of very useful ideas which I hope to be able to put to use in future art works. This months atc's were as follows:-

ATC challenge /swap #22 (Spells/Fantasy) closing date Aug 31st

A Fantasy theme for this months challenge/swap. Spells, Magic wherever the creative urge took the artist. We still seem to be in the throes of a summer depression as regards numbers of entries, but again I would like to describe the standard as impeccable. A very varied batch of artist trading cards having been entered. Here are the ATC's from this months challenge:-

ATC challenge /swap #21 (An open theme) closing date July 31st

This month to celebrate the 21st challenge, we are creating ATC's to an open theme. A slightly disappointing turnout ( still) but the standard is as ever very high. There are lots of groups on PDA and so many fun challenges to choose from including altered art pieces such as tags and jigsaw pieces, through to larger swaps such as row house sets and hand made books. We can't all be taking part in all the groups all the time, as much as we would want to. Life gets in the way!

Anyway, here are the entries for this monthschallenge:-

ATC challenge/swap #20, theme = Journey

Well here are the Artist Trading Card which were entered for this month at last, last month got a little hectic and the challenge was carried over to the end of May. This was another small, but interesting selection of entries on the theme of "A Journey". Seems that everybody is busy making art in other formats on PDA ( Paper Digital Art and Images by Kim). Tags, row houses, altered books, altered puzzle pieces. Lots of variety, why not pop over and see if there is anything to interest you. I have even started making three dimensional mixed media pieces, but that's another story.

Here are the art cards entered:-

Once again thanks to all the entrants for taking part in this month's swap. Each entrant will receive a free digital collage sheet from Kim Newberg's on-line shop as a small thank you for taking part. Oh yes, the "simplicity" and subdued colours of Tee's card, made this my favourite for this month.

Come join us for next month's challenge, we would love to see you, John.

ATC challenge / swap #19, yellow and green

A lovely sunny day here in the UK. And I am posting a swap with a theme of spring colours, yellow and green. It is no joke we have just been through one of the coldest winters on record and now we have a gloriously warm and sunny spring, there is some justice in the world.

Ok So this time we had six entries, I actually posted two cards but left them in as it made a nice evn number. here are the cards, some great ATC's as usual, I wish I could persuade more members to participate though. It makes it so much more exciting with lots of different styles. If you feel like having a go, you will need to become a member of PDA, but it is free and lots of free images for your craft / art work. We have a growing and friendly community of artists of many persuasions.

Here are the entries:

This one by artist Cynthia Stevens

This one by artist Jean Roman

This one by artist John Dyhouse

ATC challenge swap #18, purple and yellow

A very quick posting for February's swap will bring this blog up to-date. As with last month a slightly disappointing entry for this period, but I am still hoping that it will catch on within the group which has a numberof fabulous artists involved in various projects. I guess we are competing against a large number of well established trading groups. Even the best and most prolific of us sometimes have trouble creating art meeting all the commitments that we take on.

Anyway, here are the entries for the february challenge (#18) with a theme of purple and yellow.

from Cynthia Stevens

from Jean R Roman

from John Dyhouse (see Making ATC's by John)

from Lydia Hildebrandt

from Melanie Price

from Teresa Hall

The next challenge has been set on the group site at Paper Digital Art And Imagesbykim, it will be a theme around the colours green and yellow to reflect the coming spring.

First challenge of the new year

Yes it is MArch already but I have a little catching up to do. This post covers the January challenge, with a theme of coffee. This was left open for the artist to interpret the theme as they saw fit or indeed as they wanted to. Six entries this month, a very small percentage of the members, but again I think the general standard is very high. It sometimes feels a little lonely running a challenge every month but the entries We do receive make it all worth while. If you are interested in joining in with a no pressure challenge wherein your trading partner is selected at random then why not mosey on over to PDA and give us a once over.  That wait to find out which card you are getting can be exhilerating or maybe you are a relaxed individudal who could just wait and see?

Anyway here are the entries in no particular order:-

by Lydia

by Amy

 by Teresa

by Jean

by Melanie

All entries receive a collage sheet as a small thank you for entering the challenge. I awarded a prize for my own personal favourite to Melanie, for a very simple but effective idea which used the theme so very well.

Keep creating and I will be posting the results of the next challenge very soon.
