PDA ATC challenge #49 (theme = retro)

I see that I need to do quite a bit of catching up with the results from our little challenge/swaps. I was preparing to go into hospital last year when this challenge started and must have decided to leave posting the results. well I did not mean to leave it for all this time. So, it is now time for me to bring matters up to date with a number of very short posts. The theme for this challenge was RETRO and was challenge #49. The results were very varied as ever, the themes being open to interpretation. I do think they are well worth trading.

PDA, ATC challenge/swap: theme = Music; (#47)

This challenge continues to roll along. It might feel that it is a safe haven for a small number of ATC artists on the PDA site, however it does throw up some surprisingly good interpretations of the themes set.

I sometimes wonder if those themes should introduce newer techniques, since the majority of our entries are basically simple collages. Oh, there is nothing wrong in that - I became addicted to ATC's because I found collages so appealing. Possibly because of a change from my paintings, and the manner in which I could interpret a story in pictures by using simple images. And I loved being able to decide on the composition before glueing it all together.

I am of a mind however to set a technique rather than a theme to see how the participants (including myself) cope with moving out of a comfort zone. But in the meantime here are the entries from this months challenge.

PDA, ATC challenge/swap: theme = Seeing Red; (#44)

Hi here we are again with more ATC's from the monthly challenge over at PDA. Another batch of great interpretations of this theme. I seem to be getting in a rut with the fefw wordsd I include with the images, so this time lets move quickly on and forget the crap.

As usual, I will extend the hand of friendship to all who would like to participate in this small and friendly group on PDA. You do need to be a member (PDA is on the Ning network) but it is free and easy to sign up. Trade partners are selected at random so you can never be sure who you will be trading with or what you will be receiving in exchange for your card however some people think this is a fun aspect of this trade. Similar to blindswaps if you have ever participated.

PDA, ATC challenge/swap: theme = Imagined Lands (#42)

A very quick post for this and the next couple as I am having to catch up. Holidays and life in general have meant that this blog is lagging behind the actual challenge on the PDA site, I need to rectify the situation. So here are the entries for this challenge:-

If I seem to have made a lot of cards for this challenge, it is because of an error on my part when randomising the lists for trade partners. I missed out one of the participants and it was easier to trade twice than change the partners list, when I found out. The reason why I make two cards for my partner is historical , but I have carried on making two for each challenge and am like ly to do so into the future. Anyway I love making ATC's and do not do anywhere near enough because of time constraints, so I am happy with the arrangement.

Don't forget check out the PDA site, if you are not a member, for free images and "crafty" challenges.

PDA, ATC challenge/swap: theme = Trouble Lurking (#41)

Time to catch up with a couple of challenges, this one was based on a theme of "trouble lurking". I was looking forward to seeing how the participants would interpret this theme. I always look for a subject which could be desribed as "stretching" and never know what I will be doing myself until I sit down to actually start creating. This ultimately gave me quite a hard time but I think I eventually managed to think outside the box and finish with something which I had not expected,

So here are the entries for this challenge, hope you enjoy them:-
